How does it work?

Under the hood, O2Text.com uses your username and password to authenticate with the provider, and sends a webtext on your behalf. This emulates exactly what would happen if you logged into website and sent the webtext yourself. Therefore, each text sent from O2Text.com will use up one of your free webtexts, just as if you had sent it through the website yourself. The server intelligently caches various information to avoid any unnecessary traffic and processing, to make the user's experience as quick and responsive as possible.

Are you O2?

Nope. Apart from being a customer, I have nothing to do with O2. See www.credmond.net for more information on me, or to ease any worry that this is some sort of scam.

Why did you make this?

I send a lot of texts, but O2.ie had become so clunky and unreliable that I gradually stopped using it. I wanted sending texts to be as simple, quick, and easy as possible, and so I created this. As I found it so useful, I decided to make it as robust as possible and provide it online. Then I decided to extend it to work for other providers (a work in progress, but almost finished).

What else can I do?

What you see is what you get, but I will keep adding to and improving the website, as it has proved quite popular.

Is O2Text.com secure?

Absolutely. O2Text.com communicates directly with the provider’s website and all data transactions are done using a secure (HTTPS) connection. Your login credentials are necessary to authenticate you with your provider, but these are never stored or logged in anyway by O2Text.com. As soon as your credentials are used to authenticate, they are automatically discarded.
